Because soapstone is practically indestructible, it is an ideal product for kitchen countertops. Soapstone is a dense non-porous material, and therefore it will not stain like a granite or marble surface. Also, due to soapstone's thermal qualities, setting hot pots or pans directly on the surface WILL NOT affect the stone. Soapstone does not need to be sealed, preventing annual sealant maintenance as well as a shinny and reflective surface.
