Soapstone is an ideal product for kitchen countertops because it is practically indestructible. Soapstone is a dense non-porous natural stone, therefore it will not stain like a granite or marble surface. Because soapstone cannot be stained, soapstone countertops do not need to be sealed, thus preventing annual sealant maintenance and a shiney and reflective surface. Due to soapstone's thermal qualities, setting hot pots or pans directly on the surface WILL NOT affect the stone.
